No, It should not affect BKT.

What is the difference between the TR and BKT?
Relaxers or Japanese Straighteners work on breaking and rearranging the internal bonds of the hair. Once these processes are done, the hair is permanently straightened. Of course the new growth will always be curly, but the previously straightened hair will never revert or blend back.
With thermal reconditioning, the promise is always of silky smooth hair, but the reality is that the frizz factor is not only a function of curl/wave, but a function of the health of the cuticle or skin of the hair. In fact one can have very frizzy straight hair if the cuticle layer is damaged or abused. The Japanese Thermal Straightener will permanently straighten one's hair and substantially reduce frizz, but it can't correct the condition of the cuticle.
